Trusting the Season You’re In

“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” — Ecclesiastes 3:1
I heard a reflection the other day on seasons, specifically the seasons of life. And I found the information very inspiring and relatable that I wanted to share it today.
We all walk through different seasons — seasons of waiting and harvesting; pruning and growing; resting and rebuilding. Any many more. And often, when we are in a difficult or quiet season, it can be easy to compare ourselves to someone else who appears to be in their “harvest” season.
We see the answered prayers.
The open doors.
The success.
The joy.
The breakthrough.
But what we often forget is that before the harvest came the planting.
Before the growth came the waiting.
Before the flowers bloomed, there was winter.
No one arrives at a beautiful season without first walking through seasons that stretched them, refined them, and strengthened them. The waiting seasons often grow the deepest roots within us — patience, trust, perseverance, wisdom, humility, and faith.
And while those seasons can feel uncomfortable, they are never wasted.
Even winter has purpose.
Winter may look barren on the surface, but beneath the ground, preparation is happening. Roots are deepening. Growth is quietly taking place where no one can see it yet. And eventually, spring follows.
That’s true in nature, and it’s true in life too.
So if you find yourself in a season of waiting, uncertainty, or pruning, don’t lose heart. Your current season is not punishment — it may simply be preparation.
There is beauty being formed in places you cannot yet see.
And just because someone else is harvesting right now does not mean your time will never come. God’s timing, growth, and purpose for each of us looks different. And by focusing on someone else's, you lose sight of how God is working with and through you.
Take a moment and identify what season God has you in right now. And reflect on ways you can make the most of it and how you can can grow through it instead of rushing out of it.
Trust the process. Trust the season. Trust that spring always follows winter.
Because maybe the season you’re struggling through today is preparing you for the prayers you’ll one day thank God for.
In Full Bloom,
Ashley
